Meier Jost & Associates is a full-service fundraising and management consulting firm. It is based in St. Louis, MO, but serves the entire Midwest. It is entirely focused on working with nonprofit organizations: to provide the following professional services to all entities with a 501(c)(3) IRS designation:
- Planning and Feasibility Studies
- Capital Campaigns
- Capacity and Endowment Building Campaigns
- Annual Fund Development
A great deal of its work involves organizing the campaign, recruiting volunteers and making solicitation calls with them. In fact, MJA is at its best when it is at your side, asking your prospects for their contributions.
The feasibility studies are thorough and timely. Within an eight-week period of time, MJA will interview 40 individuals/organizations (selected by staff and volunteers) and provide a well documented, written report. The report provides in-depth conclusions and recommendations regarding:
- the scope of the project
- the cost of the project
- the timing of the project
- the willingness of people to donate and work on the project
MJA will then provide an overview of how the campaign should be structured. If it does not find it feasible for you to proceed with a capital campaign, MJA will tell you; it will also give you alternatives to establishing a campaign that may be different from the model that was tested.
Although it serves all nonprofits, its primary client groups have been healthcare, education and social services. MJA’s staff has more than 50 years combined of fundraising experience. Its associates are members of AFP and AHP. Most importantly, MJA associates have worked in nonprofits. They have directed agencies, development staff and numerous studies and campaigns.
