Steve Meier, CFRE
President
As President of Meier Jost & Associates, Steve helps 501(c)(3) organizations develop and secure financial resources to achieve their visions and goals.
He founded MJA in 2009, bringing with him more than 35 years of experience in organizing and leading capital campaigns, major gift development and annual fund solicitation for a host of nonprofit organizations, including Big Brothers & Big Sisters, The University of Missouri, and the YMCA of Greater St. Louis, where Steve served as Vice President of Development.
Steve believes that a fundamental element of effective fundraising is “finding the right person to ask the right prospect at the right time.” To that end, he devotes much of his time mentoring board members and other executives with nonprofit groups to help them become successful participants in the fundraising process for their institutions.
A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Steve also is a long-standing member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master’s degree in urban planning from Saint Louis University.
